Vepa is a Dutch family business committed to the sustainable and local production of office furniture. Founded in 1951, Vepa operates a 60,000m² factory in the Netherlands where all products are manufactured entirely in-house. With strong environmental values, Vepa is on a mission to become a fully waste-free company.

From office chairs and tables to storage pedestals and accessories, Vepa’s elaborate designs focus on circular production and innovative reuse. They source materials in remarkable ways – for example, using agricultural waste from hemp crops grown in the Netherlands. These fibres are transformed into durable seat shells using a plant-based resin developed by Plantics.

Recyclable, Plant-Based Chair

Unlike traditional plastics or composites, this chair contains no fossil-based ingredients and is fully recyclable at the end of its life. These plant-based chairs are made entirely from Dutch-grown hemp fibres and a bio-resin derived from plants, creating a durable yet biodegradable material. Thanks to its sustainable craftsmanship, these Vepa Hemp Fine Chairs can be shredded and remoulded into a new chair without the need for added chemicals or new raw materials, leading to a resource-saving, circular economy.

Designed with both sustainability and practicality, the Hemp Fine Chair features a strong, minimalist steel frame that’s durable enough for everyday use and versatile enough for many kinds of settings. Customise to your needs; from armrests and felt glides to FSC®-certified upholstered seat pads, there’s a configuration to suit every space. The chairs are stackable for efficient storage – up to 5 high with seat pads and 4 without – making them perfect for offices, meeting rooms, cafeterias, and waiting areas where flexible layouts are necessary.
