There is probably a good chance that you haven’t even given the necessity of an office chair mat a second thought.

However, if you have a hard plastic or wooden floor in your office and a good office chair with wheels an office chair mat will not set you back much money and, frankly, could save all sorts of mishaps  from occurring.  It is also tremendously annoying when you are flying around at a rate of knots with your office chair spinning off into all sorts of directions.   There are some amongst us that would just get used to the daily skating of the office chair across the floor but really after we’ve had fun and we need to concentrate it will be annoying to you.

I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve seen a co-worker rolling at break neck speed on their office chair toward the printer because they misjudged how slippery the office floor actually was.  Actually it is nearly as bad as watching a person fall forward in their office chair when their wheels have got trapped in the carpet.

The office chair mat puts a stop to slippery floor hazards and carpet getting trapped in your office chair wheels – they give you complete control on where you go within its diameter.

Most of the office chair mats that you will find are sturdy plastic, and many people choose the clear versions, however, if you have a bit more money to spend and matching office furniture is important to you, you can get them to match your floor surface area too.
