Changing existing office space or creating a new office that is impactful to the environment has many bonuses to your company and your staff and will help you meeting necessary business ISO and health and safety standards.

The reduction of waste production and making your office energy efficient not only saves you money in the long run, gives a positive message to your employees but should you consider investment in the future it is certainly a huge bonus for future business concerns.
Recycling office furniture that is no longer required will reduce landfill and is energy efficient in so far as it will reduce the overall need of producing new office furniture and the energy that is associated with this process.  So if you have no need for that old office desk or that out of place office chair donate it to charity.

Keep recycling areas in each room near office desks encouraging staff to use them regularly.

Make sure any office desk partianing is made of recyclable materials and, if you can, adopt the same policy for floors.

A building insulated well will reduce heating costs and new air conditioning or heating systems need to be energy efficient.
Ensure lighting is longwearing as well as energy efficient.

Try to encourage people to keep documents electronically with back up disks and reduce the use of filing cabinets and cluttered office desks by reducing the use of paper and printing.
