Space Plan

May 6th, 2017

A space plan is a preliminary office design layout which graphically illustrates the business needs in terms of existing building features, staff and equipment levels, potential future growth and team adjacencies.  It depicts the basic project statement, viewing the office space and its usage from above.

It indicates placement of walls and details type of construction, doors, windows, emergency exit routes, circulation of staff and visitors within the area, support areas (such as filing spaces, equipment areas, storage or resource libraries, etc.). All these considerations must be configured within the context of existing building structures.

Office furniture and equipment layout plans within this overall space plan will provide an overview of the general use of the spaces being depicted and build in capacity for future adaptation.
