Acoustic Furniture

June 2nd, 2017

Incorporating Acoustic Furniture in office design helps to manage acoustics in a large space.  They contribute to an overall better working environment in large office spaces, as well as offering strong interior design elements.

The specially produced acoustic furniture panel, for instance has properties that absorb sound, providing a higher Sound Reduction Index (SRI) ISO index rating for the workspace.

This standard rating system benchmarks how well a furniture partition, for instance, absorbs sound.  These are defined in the ISO – 140 series of standards, which are regularly reviewed.

The rating figure very roughly reflects the decibel reduction in noise that a partition can provide, whether from installation of movable room dividers and partitions to ‘cocoon’ seating pods.
