Tips for mums managing children and work

If you are a working mum, you already have two jobs!

Saving time can be a key factor in allowing you to pack more jobs into your day so working from home can mean you can work your home life around your working schedule.

This does bring with it its own problems which occur when you become disorganized and allow the two jobs to merge into each other when strictly speaking they shouldn’t.  This is not so bad maybe once or twice but soon it can become a habit – you cannot let this happen or you will end up stressed because you will probably be achieving less than you should, so consider a few ways of stopping this from happening:
Go to your computer desk when you need to work and stay there.

Don’t try and take work calls whilst you are battling with the washing machine and the kid’s breakfast – work calls should be saved for the office desk within office time.

Keep all your mealtimes regular and ensure you leave your office chair for an hour at lunchtime returning promptly.

Make sure your office desk area is far from any noise and children – try and keep this as a separate area to the rest of the house to stop children playing with papers on your office desk and finding Woman’s Own stuffed in your tax returns.
