Our working days race by so fast these days and there is always much more to do than we actually manage to get done. There are so many distractions and people who slow you down whether you are sat at your office desk or not. There are lots of ways to save time though through organising your phone and admin times to keeping all emails in a recognisable filed format on your computer. Keep your office desk tidy; make sure you have all the office furniture and equipment you are going to need throughout the day. Basically make your working day work for you. Control your time and organise yourself.
Use all the office equipment you can to speed up your job that is what it is there for after all!!
Delegate to secretaries and office juniors where you can.
Try and control the deadlines of the work you have sat on your office desk.
Avoid the distractions of other people interrupting with less urgent work and try and deal with things in time and deadline order.
Don’t hold meetings in your office chair, go to a meeting room, sitting in your office chair huddled around your work area is not a place to discuss matters that will perhaps have less impact or importance to those concerned due to continual interruptions.
Having to explain something again and again to people is tedious, disorganised and time consuming.
