Well for any of those special days when your boss is out and it’s a clear run for Office Furniture Olympics bear this one in mind.
Office Chair Box Blast
What you need for this is one office chair on wheels, with a high back (Note to self; next time the boss is doing an office furniture purchase make sure those office chairs have high backs!)
This also requires 15 cardboard boxes, the bigger the better. The cardboard boxes need building into a wall that stands up.
Clear all the office desks out of the way.
During the times when you are outside a pressured office and less likely to need crazy games to boost your enthusiasm, you may find yourself playing a much more civilised version of this game which is commonly known as ten pin bowling. Except this time the bowl is the co-colleague who is sat on the office chair with wheels, the same co-colleague that you are about to launch into 15 cardboard boxes.
Strictly speaking following on from the Ten Pin Bowling theme this should be called Fifteen Box Pushing but the Office Chair Box Blast sounds so much more exciting.
The goal is to knock down as many cardboard boxes as possible. It’s really hard to find 30 cardboard boxes so keep your crowd patient as they will need to do this two at a time; one sitting in the office chair and one pushing it.
You MUST mark on the floor where the line is that you push and let go of your colleague and office chair because this is your bowling line. And, just because you are under pressure do not throw your co worker and office chair violently at release point.
Any boxes that the office chair hits on the bottom row do not count towards your score.
One final thing, make sure the boxes are stacked the same each time and that they are spaced out well enough to make it a proper competition.
This is brilliant fun for the person in the office chair (normally).
Office Furniture Olympics always comes with safety precautions and these are those for Office Chair Box Blast.
• It’s a good idea not to run office chair wheels on a floor that is not even or does not have a well fitted carpet.
• Have a crash mat behind the boxes to catch the person in the office chair if necessary.
• Clear a good runway for the office chair.
