Well, well, well, an office would not be the same without office furniture Olympics and there really is fun to be had here. You know when you have those mad urges sometimes to jump over an office desk or hurtle over an office chair….erhmmm is it just me?
Sometimes, just sometimes, the boss is away….the office snoop is on holiday….you’ve hit your targets and deadlines and les face it you deserve it..it’s office furniture Olympics time!!!
Get all colleagues involved because let’s face facts if you do get caught playing office furniture Olympics there is safety in numbers so the more of you involved the better!
Here is one of my favourites:
Office Chair Olympics
This requires office chairs with wheels. Two is enough, honestly, anymore and it gets chaotic and you can end up with people getting sprained ankles after office chair collisions happen; and they will.
The nature of the game is based purely on the old style opportunity knocks contests and simply; you have one contestant each sat in an office chair with wheels with their team mate standing at the helm…oh yes office chairs with high backs give you better leverage to gain better speed.
One person has to push their team mate in an office chair across the floor as fast as possible and the first to reach the other end is the winner. Really only the winner of receiving 10 seconds of glory from cheering co workers but none the same, winner. At this point I must tell you to take a number of safety precautions when playing office furniture Olympics, namely for this particular office chair Olympic event:
- Make sure you have a flat surface for the office chair wheels and don‘t try this on office floors that are carpeted.
- Make sure there is a gangway cleared by colleagues and everyone stands well back whilst the office chairs are racing.
- Make sure you have something spongy as a crash area in case your co-worker ends up flying off on their office chair through reception, down the stairs and out of the door of the office.
- Shout a lot.
