Colours, like purples and blues are said to provide a calming atmosphere. Where the more earthly tones such as the soft browns will add a hint of professionalism to your home office. Stronger colours like red/orange are said to make a room friendly and inviting.  So when you are choosing the colours take all this into consideration.

Keeping the light bright especially with the use of natural lighting as it will keep you awake and focused.  It is also very inviting and provides a friendly atmosphere for clients.

You really need to arrange your office in a way in which you can best reach all items whilst sat at your office desk. If you have a need to store, or file, items you may also be considering a filing cabinet which does not necessarily need to be right by your office desk. Although your printer should be on a computer desk by the side of your work area.

Design your home office in a logical manner so that it is easy to keep it organized. By selecting office furniture and office accessories that will compliment your comfort and organisation, you are thus allowing yourself a greater potential to maximise your productivity levels.

Pleasant memories and pictures of loved ones are greatly uplifting to glance at on the corner of your office desk – as long as you don’t clutter your desk with personal items! Plants and flowers in an office are also uplifting and my personal favourite is a colourful bubble lamp which is very relaxing to look at as are fibre optic lamps that change colour! Creating these personal touches whilst decorating your home office can make your area more calming and inviting.
