If your home office space is very small you can still make the best of it with our handy tips:

Choose fold down office chairs with backs to clear standing space when you need it.

Choose fold down office desks that fill your space when you need to work on paperwork but can be put away entirely when it is not needed.
Partition your office space with a fold away attractively decorated wooden or fabric partition.

Use a piece of home office furniture to store your paperwork (but make sure this is done efficiently and not just thrown in) and keep the book shelf or your other chosen filing furniture item close to the space you have allocated as your home office.  This keeps your house looking tidy when you have folded your office furniture away!

Do ensure you try to pick the far corner of the room away from the television and in a space with plenty of light.
