Laptop computers are so widely used now, and yet it is still a little known fact that the ergonomic aspect of the keyboard next to the screen is far from ideal. It’s a simple fact that not many people are aware of.
There are some who do buy an extra computer monitor keeping it slightly raised above their office desks which is plugged into the laptop whilst mainly using their laptops for travelling and meetings.
Monitor stands are the perfect and most cost effective solution to someone who needs to use a laptop for business trips because they give you the flexibility when you come back to your office and plug yourself into a far more relaxing monitor position that is raised to your eye level just above your office desk. Working on a laptop means looking down often which is bad for the neck and back muscles.
There is also the added benefit of extra office desk surface space underneath where the monitor is raised (sometimes every bit of office desk space counts!)
Another option to the ergonomic nightmare of bad computer positioning is to make the small investment in a very worthwhile office furniture item - the keyboard tray.
Having one of these means you can actually recline your office chair and place your keyboard in your lap using the back of your office chair to rest your neck – now this is the perfect ergonomic position and one you will be happy to sit back in and enjoy for hours on end whilst you meet all those deadlines!
