Art in the Office

Art in the workplace sets the theme of the environment for both visitors and employees alike and can set the mood of these people unconsciously.

The first point of contact for most companies is the reception area.  Hanging contemporary pictures in the office desk reception area is the key area.  Contemporary and striking pictures can make great conversational pieces with visitors before business negotiations.

Many companies hang their own photographic pieces pertaining to their industries, whether this is their own creative artwork or direct pieces significant to their industry sectors.  Visitors’ eyes are cast immediately to the wall hangings. If the photography is good and the picture has been well framed these pieces sit well around the back and the side of the office desk reception area and around the comfy office chairs in which visitors sit.

Psychologists are very keen to explain that colours are key to setting moods.

Deep, bold and striking colours give a trendy and impactful feel which is great within a young, creative environment for instance.  Doctors’ surgeries are better going for light, pastel and restful colours.

A piece of art can give the impression of a successful company so choose these items well.

Hanging art pieces around employees’ office desks and workstations give workers something to focus on when they lift their eyes from the computer screen. Having a restful or scenic focal point reduces stress and eye strain from staring at a computer monitor all day. This too goes for impactful sculptures which brighten even the most boring filing cabinet or computer desk.
