Whistle While You Work

An increasing number of companies are beginning to recognise that a happy and comfortable workforce is a productive one. We spend a good deal of our time at work and those companies that experience high levels of absenteeism might want to take a fresh look at the way their offices are furnished. Plenty of studies suggest that there is a clear relationship between a person’s sense of well being at work and their physical comfort.

When you sit in front of a computer for most of the day, in a chair that does not give the necessary support to a person’s arms and back, then you will suffer physically. Thousands of man/woman hours are lost each year as a result of back pain and repetitive strain injury. If you want a healthy and happy workforce, which is also a productive workforce then perhaps you need to think about the type of office furniture your company has provided.

The Health and Safety Executive says that office seating should give the user the proper support. Chairs should be adjustable to provide that support and to ensure that a person’s chair is also the right height. If you want a reduction in the number of absences and a happier and more productive workforce then perhaps you should start with the office furniture.
