How many times have you complained that you have too much work to do? Your office desk is stacked with papers, your email inbox is on overload and you don’t get to spend a second in your office chair because somebody is always demanding your attention.
Well other than organising yourself, the only other thing you can look to do is see around you for time saving devices that you may not normally use.
Now we have printers sat at the side of most of our office desks, these are preferable to photocopiers because you don’t need to leave your immediate surroundings to use them.
Use the filing cabinets – these are not for show.
Ask juniors and secretaries to help with parts of your job if you are able to delegate to them. Start getting your office desk clear with a little help.
Keep a voicemail message on the phone at your office desk and when you are too busy to take calls in the day, ignore the phone, put your voicemail on and come back to the messages when you have cleared the items you were working on.
Whatever you do, take a break from your office chair, because sitting at your office desk through lunch and break times will make you more tired and slower.
