Rent A Space

The credit crunch means that it is now much harder for small businesses to get a bank loan to set up an office. On the bright side, commercial property prices have fallen and some agents are trying to get at least some money from these spaces by offering cheaper rental agreements. Paying in rent is a much better option for small businesses as they don’t have to find the sometimes enormous upfront deposit for a lease.

When you rent a space for your company office you may find that there are more restrictions than there might be were you leasing the space. There may be restrictions on decorating the space and on how many staff you can house there. If you are considering going down the route of renting office space then probably the best advice is to buy office furniture and accessories that are easy to pack up and go, should the need arise.

It is possible to buy modular office furniture that can be taken apart should you need to move your business. Although this type of office furniture is not usually exorbitantly expensive, you may need to hire a professional to put the furniture together and to disassemble it. This may not be an ideal situation but with credit lines fast disappearing, renting a space may be the only option for some small businesses.
