There are a whole host of reasons for having a party in the office. Whatever the reason there is possibly going to be a need to move the office furniture around in order to accommodate the celebration. The common reasons for office parties tend to be mile-stone birthdays, any large celebration involving your boss and of course retirement parties.
The best thing to do is plan if there will be food or drinks, how many people will be attending and clearing a space by stacking the office chairs to the side of the office, if the office desks are not too heavy push them to the side to clear a central space in the room.
Pushing together basic office desks that have just got a flat top working space and basic legs means that you have an instant buffet table!
Having a screen show is always quite a popular thing to do if it is a retirement party that you are having. If you are doing this push the office chairs into a semi circle in the centre of the cleared office space with the screen at the bottom end for all to see.
If you are attempting to put up banners or streamers remember to check the legs of the office desk you are trying to balance on – not all office furniture is sturdy enough to take someone’s complete body weight!
