Moving a business to new premises can be a stressful process and laying out the new office may not be your top priority. Once you are in the new building you will have to give some thought to layout and where different members of staff will be located. One thing you should think about is how to avoid the disruption of moving having an effect on staff productivity and thereby on your business.
Try to give some thought to the layout of your new main office. If you have some idea of where the desks, chairs and storage units will go, then the move will be a lot quicker and easier. If the new premises are larger than the old place then you may have room for expansion later on and will need to keep this in mind when arranging office furniture.
If your workforce is divided into teams e.g. those dealing with calls, desk work and filing, computing, then you might want to divide the office up into these sections. Not only will it be easier for members of different teams to communicate with each other, it will also appear more professional to visitors. When you organise the layout of your office then try not to forget that you may need some extra seating for clients and business associates to use on occasion. Moving is a stressful process but if you have some idea of any new office furniture you may need, and where that furniture will go, then you’ve already won half the battle.
