Tony Barker, sales and marketing director for a UK furniture company is an example of a high performance worker rarely seen without a Bluetooth headset. Tony is an example of a completely new approach to office furniture and business ergonomics.
Mr Barker lives the wireless dream. "This technology is here now, it's in your face," he says. "It's in everything you buy. A BMW or Mercedes car will have Bluetooth."
Tony completely relies on his mobile phone. "I don't even have to dial. My phone usually sits in my bag. I just press a button on the headset and say the name that I want."
Tony Barker has also just written an industry white paper on how to improve to a high performance office.
"We've got this technology that if we're not careful is going to drive us to perdition. With a 24 hour day, we'd all go crazy."
Tony suggests that employers who embrace his concept totally will increase their productivity by 15% and says they can’t expect workers to be sat around at an office desk doing mundane tasks all day.
"Generation Y, the backpacker generation, will not be happy sitting at an office desk in the same environment doing boring things," he says.
