Office Security

When you have a business it is highly likely that you also have an office that requires furnishing. All too often attention is concentrated on the type of desk and chairs that are needed and other types of office furniture are neglected. Perhaps you should think about the other things that might be needed besides seating arrangements when you are buying office furniture.

Every office needs some kind of document storage and most will make use of filing cabinets that are very often unlocked so that anyone can access the contents of the file drawers. While it may be convenient for all members of staff to have access to the filing cabinets it also needs to be said that there needs to be some attention paid to keeping the contents safe. If everyone in the office needs access to filing cabinets then perhaps they should all have keys to those drawers – it’s too easy to forget to lock things at the end of the day unless someone is charged with that responsibility.

The newspapers seem to run an article deriding government methods of dealing with secret documents and files containing people’s personal information. Staff take home confidential files and then lose them. If you don’t want to compromise your clients’ personal information then you should look at cabinets and desk drawers that have secure locking systems.
