We spend a good part of our day at work and if we work in a place that is dreary and the furniture is uncomfortable then both our attitude to work and our health suffer. A bright and cheery office that is warm in the winter and cool in the summer can make a huge difference to the health and attitudes of your workforce.
It is well worth investing some time and money in refurbishing your office. Make sure that all of your staff has seating that is both supportive in the right places and adjustable. When you buy office furniture you also need to take account of the size of a desk in relation to the height of a chair. Ideally, when a person is sat at their desk the top of their head should be about level with the top of their PC.
You may have a limited budget and feel that this is not the time to invest in new office furniture but if you don’t have the right equipment in your office you will have an unhappy workforce. There is an old saying; if you want to get something then you have to throw your bread on the waters. You need to risk spending the money on new office furniture if you want a happy, healthy and productive workforce.
