Hey Ho, Hey Ho, It’s Off To Work We Go

You may not want your staff to turn up dressed as the seven dwarves but the attitude is another matter entirely. All too often people get to work after struggling through rush hour traffic or waiting for buses and trains and walk into the office and feel dramatically worse. If your workforce comes in looking miserable and then struggle through the day, watching the clock at every opportunity, you may need an office makeover.

There is now a good deal of research evidence to suggest that the look and feel of a place can have either a positive or negative effect on a person. If your office looks dreary and untidy, is ill ventilated with unsuitable office furniture then don’t be surprised when employees take a lot of sick time and struggle to keep on top of their job. Try brightening the office with a fresh coat of paint and get some adjustable office seating. You may think that you can’t afford it, the truth of the matter is you can’t afford not to if you want an improvement in attendance and staff productivity. Just a few changes in the environment can have a dramatic effect on people. If you want happy employees who come into work with a smile on their face in spite of the traffic, give the place a makeover.
