It is a hard era in which to get a job, move up the ladder and retire with a golden watch. Many people live in fear of having to work until they die just to afford the basic necessities in life.
Try and find your passion – setting up a new business at home has its benefits.
Once you have chosen your core passion and got the wheels in motion for setting up the company, get your workstation set up. Convert one of your bedrooms into a home office and buy your basic office furniture pieces (now that you are buying office accessories for your own business you can claim part of these expenses back at the end of the tax year). It is tempting to go over the top with an office chair that is perhaps too comfortable and costs the earth, but be savvy with expenditure.
A large, comfortable office desk and a good padded adjustable office chair will do the job along with a computer and filing cabinet and a phone line of course. For the initial stages, maybe just go for the basics and don’t choose keyboard arms and flat screen monitors. If your expenses are seen to be managed carefully it will reflect better on you and your business.
