Whether you are a company director or a one man band who manages everything, getting the right chair can be a crucial factor in getting the job done. There have been plenty of studies which demonstrate that the sort of chair you use at work has a considerable effect on both your health and your work output.

Every day companies advertise the latest in office furniture, but the latest is not always the best. Some chairs are not suitable for office work whereas others are exactly right for the job and for the comfort of the worker. If you are a director then your ‘seat of power’ chair, is not the right sort of chair for office tasks.

Getting the right chair for the job is imperative if you are going to be sat working on a computer for a good part of the day. First of all, you should ensure that your chair has adequate and adjustable back and seat support. You want a chair where you can feel just a little pressure on your back and your spine. The chair you choose should be fully adjustable in height and preferably with adjustable arms. The more you can adjust the chair to your particular preference, the better it is. When you get the right office chair it is much easier to get everything else right.
