There are a large number of firms who have areas within their office that partition office desks in some kind of logical departmental way, grouping office furniture into one area. Often when there are separate departments within a company, whether these are in a separate room, building or even behind a partition in the same office, it is essential to effectively encourage regular communication between the departments to ensure projects run accordingly.
Many companies see that an effective way to communicate for their internal staff is through an intranet, which is a method that ensures fast and efficient communication and gets to the point and stops workers standing over their office desks gossiping.
Communicating over the internet or intranet means that there is no need to re-jig office furniture for meetings or to find a quite meeting room, or even to take time away from your office desk - you can send the correspondence and then move onto your next job.
The property firm, Savills, recently conducted research into the business market and they now claim:
"Immediate workspace conditions were rated the most important by over 82 per cent of respondents i.e. comfort of work area and office furniture, lighting and temperature."
