If your company is going through the process of refitting then you might want to take a bit more time and trouble over how the directors’ offices are furnished. Most people that you do business with are impressed with a comfortable yet business like atmosphere and this is easy to achieve when you choose the right kind of furnishings and fittings.
You should take some time to think about the kind of image you want to project to business colleagues, employees and customers alike. Do you want to remind them that you are in a position of power? If you do want to give an impression that you are in charge then you might want to consider an imposing desk and a large, luxury chair to go with it. For those company executives who want to clients and employees alike to feel at ease when they visit perhaps a more relaxed choice of furnishings would be appropriate.
If you like to give the impression that you are there if anyone needs to have a chat or come to you with a problems then it is a good idea to set aside some office space for a low table and chairs. Casual furnishings are much less imposing than, say, an executive desk and imposing chair.
