Downsizing your office

News reports constantly emphasise that we are heading for a global recession. In this current economic climate, small businesses seem to get hit the hardest and in anticipation of this, some companies are opting to share office space in order to cut down costs. Other businesses are looking for smaller offices, often with short term leases and flexible financial agreements.

If you do decide to opt for a smaller office space then you will need to adapt your office furniture accordingly. Boardroom size desks and tables are out and partitioned workstations will probably be the most flexible way that your workforce can have some privacy whilst having the ability to integrate where necessary. Some privacy is essential if your staff spend a lot of time dealing with telephone queries, some of which might be confidential.

Partitioned workstations usually results in smaller desks with a more economical use of space. For example, some computer desks may also have a pull-out tray for other types of work. Using space saving furniture and office furniture that is dual purpose is one of the best ways of making a downsized office work well. If you are thinking of downsizing in the near future then it is a good idea to do some online research about the type of office furniture available to you.
