If any of your employees spend a lot of their time sat in front of a monitor while working on a computer then there are certain things you should look for when purchasing their office chairs.
It is more likely that you will have a happy and productive workforce if you pay attention to their needs when they are at work. Office chairs should have an adjustable back height and there should also be a tilt adjustment. The seat height of office chairs should also be adjustable as people are not all the same size. Ideally chairs that are intended for use at a computer should have a five star base and a swivel mechanism.
When you are sat in front of a computer then your eyes should be approximately level with the top of the VDU. This can be addressed by the use of an adjustable screen mount bracket. Finally it should be possible for the user to place their feet flat on the floor so as to minimise strain on the backs of the legs – in many cases a foot rest is also needed for user comfort.
