Certain Office Concepts will put Stress on Workers

What is your office environment like and is it pleasant to work in? Are you squashed up to your office desk in a small cubbyhole and closed off by partisans from co-workers or are you in a quite a spacious office with an open atmosphere?

Recent research from Australian’s Queensland University of Technology's Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation which is from data retrieved from around the globe have found that an open office space is actually far more stressful to work within because it will lead to a lower output of work.

Experts say that the reason for this is that in an open office employees can be more prone to being distracted.

It is likely that there will be more noise and every time a co-worker has a telephone conversation at their office desk nearby, you would be forced to listen to it. Other people’s conversations are a major factor in trying to concentrate whilst sat at your office desk, particularly as there is nowhere to hide for peace.

Lack of privacy will raise anybody’s stress levels and it may make co-workers feel insecure. 

On top of this, if your office desk is pushed up against a fellow colleague’s then you are more exposed to ailments which will pass quickly throughout the workforce.

Researchers say that companies should seriously think about their office furniture layouts and office set up in order to get the most from their staff.
